Microsoft's latest browser, Internet Explorer 10 (IE10), will not run on Windows Vista in the form of previews and the final product. This new browser is only intended for Windows 7. Once confirmation of Microsoft as quoted Computerworld.
The decision leaves Microsoft as the first browser developer support for the Vista release. This is also in line with its action last year when it announced that Windows XP will not be able to run IE9.
In the release notes published on Tuesday, Microsoft said that users should run the IE10 Platform in Windows 7 Preview RTW or Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1). Before you can run the IE10, Windows 7 RTW should be updated. So says Microsoft.
If you are using Vista and tried installing IE10 previews, you'll see a dialog box with the message "Windows Internet Explorer Platform Preview does not support any operating system, Earlier Than Windows 7." After that message, the installation process will stop.
The same message will also welcome you are trying to install IE10 in Windows XP.
